Dear Members and Sponsors,
It is with great regret that I let you know that the Board has taken the decision to cancel the upcoming AADPA conference in Melbourne in July 2020.
The uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak and the various travel restrictions placed on hospital and University staff makes running the event untenable.
I am grateful to the Novotel in Melbourne for providing us with a full refund on deposits paid as it would have been a significant hit to our funds to cover these cancellation costs.
Our plan is to run the annual AADPA conference at a similar time in 2021 in Melbourne. My sincere thanks to Associate Professors Tim Silk and Emma Sciberras from Deakin University as well as our event manager, Margaret Eagers, for all their hard work in organising the event, thus far.
On behalf of the Board, I wish you and your loves ones good health and hope to see you in 2021. We will certainly explore whether there are opportunities to run a smaller event, such as a targeted workshop, towards the end of the year.
