With the theme ADHD: A Shared Focus – Clinic + Community + Classroom, this year’s event brought together hundreds of clinicians, researchers, educators, and advocates to explore ADHD across the diverse environments in which it is lived and managed.

From world-class keynotes and interactive workshops to expert panels, lived experience sessions, and peer-to-peer learning, the 2025 program delivered a rich mix of clinical insight, research updates, and practical strategies to support better lifetime outcomes for people with ADHD.

We were honoured to welcome international speakers including Prof. Luis Rohde (Brazil), Dr. Mark Stein (USA), and Prof. Patrick Ip (Hong Kong), alongside leading Australasian experts such as Prof. Andrew Chanen, Assoc. Prof. Caroline Gurvich, and Dr. Claudia Bruno.

Full Day Workshop
ADHD Medication Workshop

AADPA’s full-day ADHD Medication Workshop provided clinicians with the confidence and practical tools needed to navigate the entire prescribing journey—from initial treatment decisions to long-term care.

Drawing on AADPA’s ADHD Prescribing Guide for Australian Healthcare Professionals, the workshop explored personalised treatment planning, medication selection, titration protocols, side effect management, and strategies for navigating complex comorbid presentations. Attendees also gained tools to enhance patient communication and support adherence through collaborative care planning. Whether joining in person or virtually, participants left equipped with evidence-based strategies to deliver safe, effective, and structured ADHD pharmacological care.

The special workshop offer remains available until 31 August 2025. Attendees can still receive 25% off the ADHD Prescribing Guide for Australian Healthcare Professionals. and as a bonus, will also receive a free copy of the Prescribing Guide eBook valued at $99. That’s a total value of $248 for just $112. Visit the Prescribing Guide page to redeem the offer before the deadline.

Morning Workshop

This timely and intensive half-day workshop equipped healthcare professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to confidently assess and diagnose ADHD across the lifespan.

Following NSW Health’s groundbreaking reforms—empowering trained GPs to prescribe and, in some cases, diagnose ADHD—the workshop addressed the urgent need for skilled clinicians ready to take on expanded responsibilities. Based on the National ADHD Guidelines, the session explored varied ADHD presentations across age groups and demographics, with a strong focus on differential diagnosis, co-occurring conditions, and practical frameworks for clinical decision-making.

Attendees gained hands-on guidance in evaluating assessment tools, interpreting complex cases, and applying research evidence to real-world scenarios. Participants left with strengthened diagnostic confidence and a clearer path to delivering tailored, evidence-based care in this evolving landscape.

Afternoon Workshop
Supporting ADHD in the Classroom

This engaging and practical half-day workshop provided educators, school leaders, and allied health professionals with immediately applicable strategies to better support students with ADHD in real-world Australian classrooms.

With a strong emphasis on evidence-based interventions, attendees explored behavioural strategies that improve focus, structure unstructured time like recess and lunch, and create learning environments where all students can thrive. The session also covered realistic accommodations across varied school settings and practical tools for strengthening collaboration between schools, families, and healthcare providers.

By the end of the workshop, participants were equipped with a deeper understanding of how to create inclusive classrooms, advocate for effective supports, and apply strategies that bridge the gap between clinical guidance and everyday educational practice.

In-Person Only Event
Friday Forum Panel

The 2025 Friday Forum was a powerful and thought-provoking opening to AADPA’s 8th Annual Conference, bringing together leading policymakers, clinicians, and researchers for an in-depth discussion on the structural reforms reshaping ADHD care across Australia and New Zealand.

Sophie Scott OAM facilitated a compelling 30-minute live Q&A with Professor Tony Lawler, Deputy Secretary of the Health Products Regulation Group, who joined us virtually from Canberra. Attendees gained rare insight into national prescribing reforms, approaches to medicine shortages, and efforts to improve treatment consistency and safety.

The live panel discussion featured Dr Kerry Chant and Dr Simon Towler, who shared the latest on their states’ initiatives to expand ADHD care through primary health—offering real-time perspectives on changes likely to impact clinical practice. Dr Sarah Watson brought an important trans-Tasman lens, outlining New Zealand’s reform pathway, while Dr Mark A. Stein provided global context with evidence-based models of stepped and shared care.

The session concluded with a networking reception, giving attendees the chance to continue the conversation over drinks and canapés with colleagues and speakers. Thank you to everyone who joined us in person for this impactful evening of insight, policy, and connection.
