Dr Alison Pilkington

About

Dr Alison Pilkington graduated from Adelaide University in 2006 and achieved Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2011. She has worked as a general practitioner for over a decade and is proud owner of a neuro-afirming clinic.

Dr Alison is particularly passionate about the fair, thorough and respectful assessment of ADHD in adults and children. She understands that many people live for years without recognising ADHD in themselves, often feeling misunderstood or unsupported. Alison is committed to creating a safe, non-judgemental space where patients feel heard and understood.

Her approach to ADHD assessment is careful and comprehensive. She takes the time to explore each person’s history in depth and works collaboratively with patients to determine whether ADHD may be contributing to their challenges. Her goal is to help patients better understand how their brains work and to provide practical, evidence-based support and management where appropriate.

Known for her warm and empathetic style, Dr Alison values strong therapeutic relationships and patient-centred care. She believes patients should feel informed, involved and empowered in their healthcare decisions.
