About
With over 40 years of experience in education—and 32 of those dedicated to supporting young people with learning differences, I have spent the past ten years specialising in working predominantly with individuals with ADHD, Autism, and other Learning Differences, and associated challenges. My approach is grounded in empathy, insight, and a deep understanding of neurodiversity.
For the past 5 years, I have also worked as a counsellor in private practice, primarily supporting young people with learning differences and their families. My focus is on empowering both young people and their parents, by increasing their understanding, building their confidence, and fostering stronger, more harmonious relationships.
In addition to direct work with families, I am passionate about equipping educators to better support neurodivergent learners. I provide coaching and professional development to teachers, helping them build the skills and confidence needed to create inclusive, engaging, effective and affirming learning environments and experiences.
Collaboration is central to my practice. I work closely with paediatricians, educational and clinical psychologists, and speech therapists to ensure a coordinated approach that puts the needs of the young person, and their family, at the centre of care.

Psychoeducation forms a crucial part of my work with clients, to build understanding and empowerment. This may include learning more about their learning profile, support and guidance on classroom accommodations and exam provisions, based on clinical assessment by appropriate allied health practitioners e.g., psychologists, speech pathologist, occupational therapists, and doctors and paediatricians.
Other key areas of support include collaborative goal setting, executive function training, including time management, task initiation, planning and prioritising tasks, emotional regulation support, use of assistive technology, visual scaffolds for learning, study skills, and other strategies for making life a bit more manageable, and more enjoyable.
I also use evidence-based intervention including Person-centred and Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, ACT, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, depending on client goals, need and inclination.
