Dr Kimberley Cunial is the Director and Principal Psychologist at Spring Psychology. She holds specialist endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist as well as an Educational & Developmental Psychologist. She is also a registered and experienced teacher who has a good understanding of educational accommodations and adjustments – particularly those that may support individuals with ADHD.

Kimberley is also an approved supervisor with the Australian Board of Psychology, providing supervision to early through advanced career psychologists, provisionally psychologists on internship/externship placements through their university, as well as registrars working towards specialist endorsement with AHPRA in the fields of Clinical or Educational & Developmental Psychology. Often a large part of her supervision work is focused on ADHD.

She earned her Bachelor and Honours degrees in psychology, and a Master of Educational Psychology, from the University of Queensland; a Postgraduate Diploma of Education from the Queensland University of Technology; as well as a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Griffith University.

Kimberley has well over 20 years of experience across hospital, community, university, school, and private practice settings. She enjoys research and writing, which has involved co-authoring two editions of a developmental psychology textbook and publishing a number of scholarly journal articles – with a particular focus on ADHD. She has also been interviewed by the media on topics particularly relevant to families as well as children and adolescents.

Kimberley is particularly passionate about neurodiversity and especially Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (the focus of her PhD research and associated publications). She does a great deal of work in this space. This includes therapy with individuals, couples, and families; collaboration with schools, universities and workplaces to facilitate reasonable adjustments and accommodations; as well as assessment, training (including parenting courses offered in an individualised/tailored manner through a neuro-affirming lens), advocacy, program development, mentoring and supervision. She takes a warm, empathic, and collaborative approach.

Kimberley works exclusively via Telehealth and can be reached through the Spring Psychology website www.springpsychology.com.au
