About
Dr Maddi Derrick is a Clinical Psychologist and Board-approved supervisor, and the founding director of Hobart ADHD Consultants where she leads a team of psychologists providing neurodiversity-affirming assessment and intervention services for ADHD and co-occurring conditions.
Maddi is experienced in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of mental health concerns, having worked across varied non-government and community settings in earlier career stages. She currently works predominantly with adults with ADHD, and with parents/families of children with ADHD, including providing regular parent training workshops. She provides clinical supervision for psychologists who work with individuals of all ages, and for provisional psychologists on clinical placement.
Alongside her clinical work, Maddi facilitates training on assessment and non-pharmacological intervention for ADHD via the Australian Psychological Society, and provides ADHD-related training and consultation for a broad range of organisations in the health, education and community service sectors.
With lived experience of ADHD, Maddi is a passionate advocate for a better deal for the ADHD community. She has been involved in numerous initiatives aiming for systemic improvement, including being a founding member of Parents for ADHD Advocacy Australia, and being a member of the development group for the ‘Australian Evidence-based Clinical Guidelines for ADHD’.
